The Katana Bamboo Bong

TerraTokes' newly released Katana Bamboo Bong introduces the idea of smoking a plant out of a plant. The Katana is made of bamboo and functions as a traditional water pipe and filtration device for smoking. It functions in the same manner as glass bongs, but it’s indestructible and elevates the smoking experience due to the quality of bamboo. Bamboo bongs are durable, aesthetic, eco-friendly, and unbreakable. The quality craftsmanship of bamboo bongs makes them stand out as an ideal option for every day smokers, outdoor adventures, and sharing the dry herb experience with your closest friends.

Bamboo bongs leave little to no carbon footprint. Unlike glass and rubber bongs that emit CO2 emissions into the atmosphere when produced, bamboo bongs help reduce our carbon footprint as bamboo acts as a natural clean air plant when it’s grown. When glass and other types of bongs are produced, more CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere during the craftsmanship process. Additionally, glass and rubber are not biodegradable in the same way that bamboo is. When bamboo grows, it reduces 1,000 pounds of CO2 from the atmosphere!

Bamboo bongs also stand out from the crowd due to their natural anti-microbial properties. Naturally waterproof, bamboo was historically used as a water bottle. During the craftsmanship process of the Katana, we boil the bamboo with lab-grade Sodium Chloride and extract the plant sugars. We then soak the bamboo with natural wood hardening oil to ensure durability. Finally, the inside of the bamboo is coated with food-grade and heat-resistant epoxy resin for water and chemical resistance and proofing. This will ensure that your bamboo bong withstands all bong cleaners, both natural and market. The resin will withstand temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, so our product will also be compatible with your favorite dab rig.

Bamboo Tube

Our bamboo tube is constructed from construction-grade bamboo that is shatterproof, lightweight, and antimicrobial! Bamboo is eco-friendly as it’s able to be sourced directly from the environment as opposed to glass and rubber bongs that require processes just to create the glass or rubber itself. For those unfamiliar with bamboo, it’s a fast-growing super grass, not a tree. Bamboo is one of the most highly-recognized clean-air plants, and can fully mature in 3-5 years! As such, using bamboo to craft our bongs doesn’t result in deforestation. Our tube is 16 inches, which the TerraTokes founders decided was an ideal size for on-the-go use!

Ice Catcher

For those who enjoy using ice in their bong to elevate their smoking experience by cooling the smoke further, the Katana features an ice catcher. Bamboo nodes are a natural feature of bamboo and strengthen the structure of the plant as it grows. Naturally, the Katana Bamboo Bong features an ice catcher positioned above the downstem that works both as a splash guard as well as a natural shelf in your bong to ensure the best dry herb smoking experience.

Terrastem

Every bong needs a solid downstem, so that’s why we created the terrastem as an unbreakable and durable wood downstem. The terrastem is crafted with Longan wood and is as indestructible as bamboo. Longan wood is renowned in Vietnam for its durability in crafting smoking pipes and furnitures. Our terrastem includes a percolator and fits a 14mm bowlpiece. Although we recommend using our leaf bowl for optimum results, you can use any 14mm bowl piece you prefer. Our shatterproof downstem makes the cleaning process worry-free and means that you can bring your bamboo bong anywhere and smoke with ease.

Leaf Bowl

Our leaf bowl will be your new favorite bowl! Our leaf bowl is multi-functional by acting as both a scoop and a windshield. By embodying the natural shape of a bamboo leaf, the leaf bowl offers both an aesthetic appeal and a practical functionality for everyday smoking. The scoop feature of the bowl will allow you to easily scoop your dry herb off of trays, counters, and even right from your grinder. Or, if you opt to not use a grinder, you can crumble your dry herb right into the leaf bowl by utilizing the shield as a guard. When outdoors, especially in windy conditions, the leaf bowl will function as a windshield. The days of having to wait for the wind to die down to light your bowl are over!

Crafted from the same shatterproof Longan wood as our terrastem, the leaf bowl will outlast all other glass and metal bowlpieces. Resistant to heat, our terrastem best accommodates lighters and hemp wicks. While you can use torches in a pinch, we advise against using gas or high-temperature torches to ensure the longevity and appearance of your leaf bowl and to prevent damage.

Mt. Fuji Base

Our Mt. Fuji base is inspired by the iconic Mt. Fuji in Japan. Reserved as the country’s tallest and most sacred mountain, Mt. Fuji reflects the soul of Japanese culture. Also crafted from durable Longan wood, we utilize leather to ensure a snug fit. While our bamboo tube will stand on its own without the Mt. Fuji base temporarily when on the go, we recommend bringing your Mt. Fuji Base everywhere you go to ensure you can easily set your bamboo bong down.
