Gather Your Materials

The necessary supplies that you will need:

2. Salt
3. Warm water
4. Towels or paper towels
5. Tape
6. Pipe cleaners/brush (optional)

Disassemble Your Bong

Remove the downstem and bowl from the base of the bong. This will make it easier to access all the hard-to-reach spaces that resin could potentially build up. Run your downstem, bowl, and base of the bong through hot water before using the cleaning solution.

Prepare for Cleaning Solution

Place your downstem and bowl Inside of a large plastic bag. Pour about 2 cups worth of isopropyl alcohol and a cup of Salt. Shake the solution thoroughly around the downstem and bowl. Do this for about 5-10 minutes. If you have access to a pipe cleaner or a brush use that to help remove any hard to remove resin. To properly clean and wash off all of the cleaning solution, let your faucet get to the hottest setting. If you’re camping and you need to boil water, make sure the water cools down so that you don't burn yourself.

Pour the used cleaning solution inside of the Bamboo Smoke chamber. If the cleaning solution needs to be replaced, follow the same measurements that are in the first step. Make sure you tape over the opening where you would normally place the downstem. Shake for 5-10 minutes. After you pour out the cleaning solution make sure to rinse with hot water.

Dry and Reassemble

Get a clean towel and remove any excess moisture from the surface of the bong. Dry your downstem and bowl with a towel. If you have a pipe cleaner, use that to thoroughly clean the inside of the downstem and bowl. Put the downstem back into the bong, pack the bowl with your favorite herb, fill with clean water and your bamboo bong should be clean and ready to use.
